Team Effectiveness

Carnegie Mellon University

The CMU TA2 team has developed three measures (team skill use, team coordination, and team effort/activity) that can be used to track a team’s effectiveness. Team skill use refers to the appropriate allocation of member skills and knowledge to task demands; team coordination refers to joint actions conducted by multiple members of the team; and team effort/activity refers to the amount of action contributed by the team. The purpose of these measures is to evaluate team effectiveness over time. Theoretically, these measures could be tracked in real-time. In study 4, they will be published as final measures at the end of each trial.
